Hokusai Says (by Roger Keyes)

Hokusai says Look carefully.
He says pay attention, notice.
He says keep looking, stay curious.
He says there is no end to seeing.
He says Look Forward to getting old.
He says keep changing,
you just get more who you really are.
He says get stuck, accept it, repeat yourself
as long as it’s interesting.
He says keep doing what you love.
He says keep praying.
He says every one of us is a child,
every one of us is ancient,
every one of us has a body.
He says every one of us is frightened.
He says every one of us has to find a way to live with fear.
He says everything is alive -
shells, buildings, people, fish, mountains, trees.
Wood is alive.
Water is alive.
Everything has its own life.
Everything lives inside us.
He says live with the world inside you.
He says it doesn’t matter if you draw, or write books.
It doesn’t matter if you saw wood, or catch fish.
It doesn’t matter if you sit at home
and stare at the ants on your verandah or the shadows of the trees
and grasses in your garden.
It matters that you care.
It matters that you feel.
It matters that you notice.
It matters that life lives through you.
Contentment is life living through you.
Joy is life living through you.
Satisfaction and strength
are life living through you.
Peace is life living through you.

He say don't be afraid.
Don't be afraid.
Look, feel, let life take you by the hand.
Let life live through you.

I Promise Myself

- Christian D. Larson

To be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet.

To make all my friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature I meet.

To give so much time to improving myself that I have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of myself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds.

To live in the faith that the whole world is on my side, so long as I am true to the best that is in me.

If you are unhappy where you are, it is time to make a move......

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover". - Mark Twain

Be Kind

For the past few weeks, a colleague of mine has been making a lot of complaints to my boss, some of which also happens to touch my work area.   This leads me to thinking how some people will try to belittle others in their efforts to move ahead.    Is it really necessary?  Aren’t we all just working for the good of the company?   If there is any problem, why can’t it be discussed and resolved among ourselves?

No wonder, some people said that a colleague can never be your friend and don’t ever confide in your colleague as he or she may betray you one day.

How then can we have find true friends when we don’t trust each other?  If only everyone would just be kind and compassionate and think how their actions could affect another person, I think we will find our respective niche area and help each other to work for the better of the company.

Motivational Song - "Fireworks"

When I first listened to the song, "Fireworks" by Katie Perry, I dismissed it as just another pop song by a popular artiste.  But after listening closely to the lyrics, I discovered that it is actually a motivational song that you can give to a friend who might be feeling down and lost.   The song has a message of celebration and hope to inspire them to get back up on their feet.

Check out the meaningful lyrics of the song below:-

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting throught the wind
Wanting to start again

Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards
One blow from caving in

Do you ever feel already buried deep
Six feet under scream
But no one seems to hear a thing

Do you know that there's still a chance for you
Cause there's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gunna leave 'em fallin' down-own-own

You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe you're reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road

Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow
And when it's time, you'll know

You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July

Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe-awe-awe"

Bad Drivers

I drive to work and gets stuck in the slow-moving traffic almost daily which gives me plenty of time to observe and decide who are the bad drivers.

I don’t’ consider myself a bad driver as I don’t…..

- Hog the fast lane and refuse to shift lane although I am causing a long lane of slow moving traffic behind me.

- Tailgate the car in front of me which may result in my car hitting his bumper if he brakes suddenly due to slow traffic in front.

- Cut into the next lane without signaling or signaling and cutting into the next lane immediately without considering the speed of the car in the next lane causing the driver to apply his emergency brake which might cause a collision.

- Drive slowly and allow cars from the next lane to keep cutting in and queue jumpers to come into the lane when there is long lane of slow moving traffic behind.

- Keep braking although the road is clear which causes the driver behind me to also brake to avoid hitting me.

Happy and Safe Driving and don't forget it is
better to lose one minute in life than to lose life in a minute!
